Wesley Kirkpatrick directs STMA’s academic programs and college placement team. He teaches the annual Dean’s Seminar and popular electives in core humanities and natural science.

“STMA offers students a safe, respectful, and productive environment ordered to real excellence in character and academics. Clear and consistent standards inspire pursuit of first-rate outcomes. St. John Bosco tells us to concentrate on the education of the young if we want a good society, and St. John Paul II urges us not to be afraid or satisfied with mediocrity. At STMA we mean to live out their advice in humility and with a firm orientation to high achievement and constant improvement.”

Dr. Kirkpatrick studied at Notre Dame with the renowned philosopher Alvin Plantinga. “Plantinga schooled me,” he says, “in close and honest thinking and deeply influenced my own journey.”  The Academy’s founder Robert Luddy has named him a “Teacher of Excellence.” A former visiting philosopher at Oxford, since coming to STMA he has received awards from the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
