Rod Ruiz is the Academy’s registrar and senior instructor in the humanities. He teaches primarily in history and economics.
“History is not just something we learn in a book, but something within all of us. Its study is an opportunity to learn about the continuity of culture and give a voice to those who lived in the past. The study of government, especially the founding fathers, is an especially important aspect of the student’s journey through the Academy. These studies encourage aware citizenship and thus support the project Christian leadership.” Mr. Ruiz also notes that “insight into the mechanics of economics can be invaluable in understanding how we can be leaven in the world and love one another.”
Mr. Ruiz completed his B.A. in English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he has also did graduate work in economics and business.
