Catholic Formation

St. Thomas More Academy strives to ensure a Catholic environment that encourages students to answer Pope Benedict’s call to participate in the New Evangelization.

When entering through the front doors, you will pass under our motto Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (To the Greater Glory of God) and encounter the Faith being actively lived by both faculty and students. Part of what characterizes our Catholic environment is a spirit of collegiality, where students are encouraged to pursue truth while remaining respectful of the opinions of others.  This certainly extends to our non-Catholic students who are warmly welcomed as members of the STMA family.

The Catholic environment joyfully and energetically permeates the curricular and extracurricular life of the school.

Faith Based Activities include:

  • The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available to students each Friday
  • All school Mass every Friday
  • Service and Outreach Program
  • First Thursday Eucharistic Adoration available to students
  • Morning Prayer (Liturgy of the Hours) before school
  • Prayers during morning announcements
  • Praying the Angelus everyday before lunch
  • Freshman year Introduction to Catholicism Class
  • Sophomore year Scripture Class

  • Senior year Moral Theology Class
