Dr. Wesley Kirkpatrick

Dean of Studies

Wesley Kirkpatrick leads STMA's academic program. He teaches the annual Dean’s Seminar and electives in philosophy, history, and natural science, including a popular three-term sequence of courses in historical geology. He also directs the school's college placement team.

"St. John Paul II urged Christians not to be satisfied with mediocrity, and St. John Bosco urged all who want a good society to focus on teaching the young. We take their wisdom seriously. STMA provides a safe and joyful environment, superior college preparatory teaching, and an established student culture ordered to constant improvement and authentic excellence in matters of faith, morals, and academics. It's an outstanding model for persons interested in classical Catholic education."

Dr. Kirkpatrick studied at Notre Dame with the renowned philosopher Alvin Plantinga. Since coming to STMA he has received awards from the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Academy’s founder Robert Luddy has named Dr. Kirkpatrick a “Teacher of Excellence.”
