Ms. Christina Geradts
Dean of Students and Instructor in Humanities (grades 6-12)
Christina Geradts’s family moved around often, but somehow she always found her way back to North Carolina. Always grateful to her parents for valuing Catholic education, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in Catholic education after finishing her undergraduate studies in Chapel Hill. “Providentially,” she says “I found myself at St. Thomas More Academy.”
Inspired by her own journey to Santiago de Compostela, Ms. Geradts understands pilgrimage as a metaphor for life. She considers it a blessing to accompany students during this time of their lives. “ St. Albert the Great would pray that his students would surpass him in their intellectual and spiritual pursuits. Of course, St. Albert was the teacher to St. Thomas Aquinas, so I think the Lord granted his desire! What strikes me most is St. Albert’s humility and purity of heart. He is certainly an inspiration to me.” Ms. Geradts hopes her students will grow to fulfill the unique role that God has for them on earth. “He has,” she says, “great plans for them all.”
Ms. Geradts earned her B.A. in English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has also lived and worked in a Dominican Community in Nashville, Tennessee.
